What is there to do in Fredericksburg Texas?
Q. I am 18 years old and I finally have a day off and don't know what to do. I live in Fredericksburg TX. And bored. What is there to do?
Asked by - Fri Feb 4 14:16:10 2011 - Other - United States - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Well I assume you have lived there long enough to do everything because from my experience in that town there's nothing to do to begin with. Try going down the road to Kerrville, there's got to be something to do there that you haven't done yet.

How do I plan a small, cheap wedding?
Q. I want an outdoor wedding, we're looking Septemberish, I want to spend as little as possible, and hope to keep it small. I live in San Antonio Texas. What are some things you think I should know? Any good, cheap places here in SAT? How about just general wedding planning? Here's what I thought of so far: My dress (what girl hasn't), my bridesmaids dresses (only 2 bridesmaids), who I'll invite, having the wedding outside of SAT (maybe in Fredericksburg) that way people can't say we didn't invite them, but that'll severly limit the # of people who actually do go, invitations, engagement pictures, wedding cake, location for wedding and reception, flowers (don't really want any), honeymoon locations (the closer the better). Basically we aren't… [cont.]

A. If you're open to buying a used dress, look online. I checked our local Craigslist and got an excellent condition designer Maggie Sottero gown for only $350! Going green and saving money! If you're wedding is fairly relaxed, you could have your bridesmaids buy their own dresses. Just tell them the color it needs to be, and they can pick their own style/dress. That way, they feel more as though it's for them, it's their style, and they can wear it more than once. That's what I'm doing for my wedding in July, and my bridesmaids definetly appreciate it. Consider baking the cake yourself, or, doing wedding cupcakes. If you DO hire someone to do it, DON'T tell them it's for a wedding. I've found people automatically charge more for things when… [cont.]

Has anyone been to enchanted rock in Fredericksburg, texas?
Q. Have you explored the cave found at the back of the big rock? is it dangerous, easy, hard, ok to go through?

A. we used to make it an annual trip when I was younger, I have been through the cave many times. There are parts of it you have to crawl through small areas so take a flashlight and dont be afraid to get dirty. Nothing quite like seeing the sunrise from the top of the rock.

A. with no jobs and apparently bad credit you are limited to hotels. The little places downtown will have weekly rentals, but you will need 2, you have too many people to legally live in a 1 room place. There are also homeless shelters, you and the kids in one, your BF would have to live in a mens one. The Salvation Army can direct you to those shelters.

A. I would say yes, but I live in New Hampshire. If you want to work with kids try applying at summer camps and local elementary schools, a lot of schools have summer school programs or camps...also check the rec dept. in your town, they might be hiring. another thought... check the employment section in your local paper, or the bulletin board at the local library or town offices. I've been there...(: Good luck!

Where should I go for family vacation?
Q. We are going on a road trip over Christmas break, and we need somewhere to go. We want to go to a town with old buildings that is close to mountains. We want to go somewhere cold with snow and very Christmas-y. We want to go somewhere like Fredericksburg, Texas. Anyway, we live in Texas and we want a not-so-long drive. If you have any suggestions of places to go OR if you have a suggestion on where to stay for one night on the way to Colorado, it would be greatly appreciated.

A. Since no one has answered I will give this a shot, but these places may be too far from you. First, Sedona, Arizona is a spiritual and mystical area and the town is just beautiful but I don't think they get snow. Second, Jackson, Wyoming is a lovely western-style town set against the mountains. They do get snow but this may be quite a drive for you. I have been to both places and I highly recommend them. Sedona can include the Grand Canyon, Hubble Trading Post and Canyon De Chelle. Jackson can include the Rockies, Grand Teton and even Yellowstone.
